Dear Prayer Partners,
We are in the final month of my pregnancy. I’m feeling great with only a few minor but normal pregnancy discomforts. My actual due date is July 7th.
Much activity has taken place since we’ve arrived home, and I can’t even imagine how crazy it would have been if I had been on bed rest. I am so grateful to God for shifting the placenta so quickly. Thank you for your ongoing prayers.
Visits to partner churches
We have enjoyed reconnecting with many people these past couple months. It’s been fun to give a report of what God has been doing in our lives and through the work of Bible translation in northern Ghana. Nathan has preached many places and we’ve led Bible studies and small group sessions. You have encouraged us time and time again as you’ve shared how you’ve faithfully prayed for us and have shown yourselves to be quite knowledgeable about our lives and ministry.
Updating Resources
We’ve also been fortunate to share with a couple groups of children, testing out some new material and activities that I’ve been developing to engage kids and give them a glimpse of what life is like for a children in the area where we live. Our webpage has been updated. If you haven’t checked it out recently, it’s worth a stop (in our opinion). You can access it at www.LBT.org/esalas. You will also be able to find our speaking schedule there.
Medical Care Catch-up
We’ve been to our share of doctor and dentist appointments. If I had known
that Annaka and Karissa would each get 4 shots during their physicals, I would have sent out a prayer request and taken along Nathan to the appointment. We made quite a site leaving the office with the girls wailing. It’s good to be caught up in this area of life.
Family and Friend Catch-up
We’ve been able to see many of our immediate family. The girls have especially enjoyed time with cousins and grandparents. Now that these bonds have been reinforced, our bedtime prayers have become quite long as Annaka remembers everyone by name. She also wants to pray for all her friends in Ghana.
We’ll try to keep you posted with baby news. Thank you so much for your prayers. Special prayers needs at this time include the following:
1) Pray for our co-workers David and Valerie Federwitz as they continue to guide the work of Bible translation among the Komba in our absence. They’re constantly faced with new and old challenges. Pray for wisdom, patience, perseverance, good “couple time,” and protection for their family.
2) Pray for Karin Brandt the LBT intern who is helping with the Komba women’s literacy project. This is our first attempt at a literacy program. Pray that it would not only open the door for women to read their own language, but that it would serve as a tool to advance the gospel and pass on the vision for Bible translation.
3) Pray for a healthy last month of pregnancy and a safe delivery. PRAY THAT THE BABY WOULD LEAVE THE BREECH POSITION AND GET HIS/HER HEAD DOWN.
4) Pray for our family travelssafety, patience, and longevity.
In God’s hands,
Sarah for the Esala family
